Shortbread Cookies
Shortbread cookies are a classic dessert known for their buttery, crumbly texture and delicate flavor. These cookies are easy to make and take less than 25 minutes.
Equipment
- 1 Mixing bowl
- 1 Measuring cups and spoons
- 1 Wooden spoon or spatula
- 1 Baking sheet
- 1 Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
- 1 Rolling Pin
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt to the butter mixture and mix until a dough forms.
- If desired, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut into desired shapes using a cookie cutter. If you don't have a rolling pin or cookie cutter, you can drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each cookie.
- Bake the cookies for 20-25 minutes or until they are lightly golden around the edges.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
