Gingerbread Men Cookies
These gingerbread men make the cutest cookies. Pipe untinted or colored icing onto your gingerbread men, or decorate with raisins, currants, or cinnamon red hot candies for eyes and buttons.

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 egg egg
- 4 cups cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon teaspoon salt

Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar until smooth in a large mixing bowl. Add the molasses and egg and mix until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Divide the dough in half and wrap each half in plastic wrap. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.On a lightly floured surface, roll out half the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Use a gingerbread man cookie cutter to cut out shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with the other half of the dough.
- Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.If desired, decorate the cookies with royal icing, sprinkles, or other decorations.
